Updated to iOS 11 last night and can't access an unsupported app with lots of pics

Do I have any options here? My plan is to:
acquire friend's phone with ios 10
back it up
download old backup to friend's phone
send photos to myself
download friend's backup back onto his phone
yall think this will work?

If the data is still there in the old backup, it should unless they pulled the app from the store and you cant get the app.

it's not on the app store anymore... ugh
ETA: i read somewhere that if the app was synced from your phone to your computer, it can be redownloaded despite being removed from the store. i remember doing it with flappybird

Your backup would have to be the same iOS version that the phone is currently on.

the backup is ios 10, my buddy's phone is ios 10. i think itll work

it worked!
app is not on the app store anymore but it worked anyway
borrowed guys phone that still ahd ios 10
backed it up
wiped it
downloaded my old backup
sent photos to self
wiped it
downloaded friend's backup
easy peasy
