Okay, so really my camp was struck by lightning. 46" Samsung. No power. What are my options as far as repairing it and do yall have any experience with this issue?

Lanclos tv repair in Opelousas. May be just the power supply. May be fubar.

Insurance on the place? Worth it to make a claim or just go by a disposable tv from wally world?

This happened about a year ago and I just found the TV boxed up at my parents house. If I could fix it without spending $500 on a new one, that's the route I would like to go.

Saving for the next hurricane to "add" to the claim?

My dad's 50" Sony TV lost all the HDMI plugs due to lightning. I bought a Sony Service/Repair manual PDF on ebay for $5. Then bought a used main board with warranty on ebay for $30. Took about 30 minutes remove the back, about 10 screws on the board and about 10 wire plugs. Back in business.

Man that would be awesome if that was the case with mine. I'm assuming the only way to diagnose it would be to bring it to a repair tech.

See how much a power supply is on ebay. TV repair places part out TVs and sell the parts cheap with a guaranty. It's plug and play and some screws.

Difficult part is if power supply or main board.

My plasma blew the main board. Spent $500 on tech visit, board and install. After watching him, it's a $200 part online and easy stuff. Now, the troubleshooting he did to determine it, that may be worth the $50 service call.
