Currently have a Fire TV Stick with KODI + Parents cable log-in (I know, I know) for ESPN/ESPN2/SEC Network.

I'm not going to need the +$5 for the Sports package, so $20 should be my cap on Sling TV.

I had Sling TV before, but canceled it whenever I discovered KODI. The Live TV stream content was nice but it's becoming a pain in the arse finding new avenues every week or so to find the content. I also want a relative feel to a TV guide feature.

Sling TV - $20
Netflix. $8

It wasn't bad when I had it. You have to take it for what it is. I didn't watch sports on it.

I'm about to do the same with slingtv but not really use the app. For example, we have a new appletv and there is no slingtv app for appletv. However, you can just get the ESPN app, or the History channel app, etc and then just use your slingtv login info with those apps.

Just checked out the channel line-up. I'll be paying $20 for:

AMC
Food Network
ABC Family
Cartoon Network
Disney
Lifetime
History

H2
TNT
TBS
HGTV
Travel Channel
CNN

Bolded ones are the ones that would actually be put to use by either my mom who comes over, my nieces, my GF or me. I also would have ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNNews, ESPNU, SECN, SECN+ via my parents subscription.

Do you have a laptop? You can download Sling TV on that and HDMI your laptop to your TV. Has the normal TV guide function.

That's better than just not using the other channels at all.

If you get 3 months of Sling TV (Have to select 3 month, not monthly, you get a free ROKU Stick. That'll have the Sling TV app

Can't you just use your sling credentials to sign in to a channel's app?

Why would you pay $20 and shipping for a used product when you can get it for $40 at Best Buy?

I'm happy with my Sling. I was annoyed with it a couple months ago because ESPN never seemed to work, but they upgraded their interface and I'm assuming beefed up their servers a bit because it's been working flawlessly as of late. I'm running it through a Roku 3 and a Roku stick in my bedroom.

I was ready to cut the cord this weekend. Already had Netflix and Amazon Prime. Got an antenna and subscription to Hulu and Sling. So i added about $35/month, minus cutting directv. Been running a test this week and everything seems fine.

I can get Cox's one above basic cable package for $40/month after taxes. Includes all the ESPN/SEC channels, and FSNO. They are giving me a one DVR for free. If i have a DVR, then i dont' need Hulu to watch the network shows that we watch, and dont' need sling for ESPN since i have cable. Not having a DVR was the biggest negative to cutting the cord, and i'm not buying a tablo or tivo for $200+ dollars and have to pay the subscription fee as well, and Hulu does a good job of replacing that need.

I think i'm going with Cox instead of cutting the cord b/c for $5 more a month, i get everything i would by cutting the cord and streaming everything, but i get to record everything and watch Pelicans games now. I'll also have the credentials to log into all the major networks so i can use the other tvs in the house to watch anything since i've got firesticks on them already. (I have issues running cables to certain rooms b/c of the vaulted ceilings and where the tvs are in the room).

it's 5 frickin dollars. just go to the website, click on the sports package, and feel good knowing you're not mooching off your parents like a teenager.
