Just pulled the trigger. Wow, basically getting it for about 1420 out of pocket.

I'm super stoked.

Best Buy has M series Vizio 55" for $899
The 8000 series Samsung 60" for 1699
Also the m series 70" for 1999

Is there much difference between the m series and the 8000 series?

Sure enough, Best Buy dropped the price too. I see their advertising "Cyber Monday" I wonder if that's why? I can tell imagine newer models are already coming out? But maybe they are. $300 drop for that TV seems steep for no reason.

From what I've looked at, seems like the 8000 is more comparable to the vizio P series than M. M is more like their mid range now.

Nah, the KS8000 series came out in May. Long ways away from 2017 models.

I would be SOOO in your debt.

Is the HDR worth the money? I'm needing a tv for my new man cave. It'll mainly be used for sports. I'm entertaining the thought of goin with a 50-60" and adding a 30-40" to have two games goin at the same time.

I could almost accomplish that for the same money by not buying HDR. Am I gonna notice a difference on Saturdays?

It will make a difference in the future. I can't help you quantify it - if you want 4k, you get 4k. If you don't think you need HDR, don't get it. It may be something they can add with firmware.

If you're doing a sports wall for a mancave, I'd get them as comparable as possible - nothing worse than realizing 1 picture is THAT much better than the other.

But, that's just my $0.02.

If the TV is not capable of producing the wider range of colors it's not going to matter. Any 2017 capable of this will have it anyway.

Thanks. Did yours not come with the screws needed to put the brackets on the back?

Mine did not come with screws so I went to Home Depot and bought the correct ones.

I tried these settings and was a little disappointed with the picture. I am going to keep tweaking until it looks as good as my five year old Samsung.

Yep had to do the same.

I really don't like this one connect thing, no actual hdmi right on the TV. At least one for people who will be mounting on the wall.

However, I was able to figure out working uverse through the TV which is killer. I can keep the box in the cabinet now.

When I unplugged everything to hang the TV on the wall, of course now it doesn't work like it was. Trying to figure out what happened.

I had it set up to where I could control uverse and receiver volume with my uverse remote pointed at the TV. My boxes are all in cabinets so it was nice to having to open and close those everytime I wanted to do something. The stereo volume still works, but the uverse part is nonresponsive. When I use the Samsung remote it sometimes brings up the guide but rarely. Gonna try and delete it out and reset it up and see what happens.

When 65” 4k OLED is 1999, I'll buy another TV.

Yeah I had some trouble with my sound system as well at first using optical, I switched to hdmi arc and it then read it as a receiver and works flawlessly across all devices with the smart remote.

I still need to find a good 4K HDR movie to watch.
