For the first time ever. We are thinking about having a TV at our tailgate. Is there a way to run a TV with out having to do a Dish? I was thinking a smart TV with a wifi hotspot. But the problem is everyone agreeing to throw in for the hot spot year round.

a good OTA antenna will catch many of the local channels

You may also want to consider the type of single strength you're going to get with a hot spot. If it's not fast enough you may get a lot of buffering or poor image quality. Like the last poster said, you can get a lot of games just with an antenna.

If you aren't far from the TV stations you don't even need an antenna. In Knoxville we used to run a tv off of a marine battery with and could get the locals just fine.

I would not depend on anything cellular at a tailgate period

Looking into the OTA Antenna. Athens is within about 100 miles of most of the ATL Stations so... We should be good with a omni directional. Would yall have any recommendations?

TIA

I would not trust a hot spot. Nothing like a good buffering to ruin a good game for the tv viewers.
If you're not doing a dish, just get a OTA antenna for the local stations.

Nothing like investing in a dish though.
