I just bought a securifi almond and want to get a cable modem to go with it so that I can stop renting one from Cox. We only use the internet for school work, netflix, watchespn, etc.
We are only going with the 50 Mbps plan in a 1br apartment, so I don't want or need anything super fancy. Something cheap will do but I would like it to be reliable. I am looking at the following, will these be what I need?:

Please feel free to comment on these or suggest something else. Not really looking to spend more than 100 dollars.
thanks everyone

Cool. I've recommended that Cisco DPC3010 to numerous people who use Cox. THe market got flooded with used ones because Comcast used to allow it but then didn't, so there's a big surplus.

I have cox and always wondered if I buy this I can return the modem I have? Do they charge you for not using their modems?

I talked to the rep that set my service up and he told me that if i bought my own modem then i won't be on the hook for renting one from them so I am assuming there is no charge.
