I have a Gigabyte 970AD3p MB with Athlon 8 core cpu 32 gb ram and have windows experience overall score of 7.6. Despite all the number when I boot window7 x 64 it takes 1:46.71 to boot from the splash screen. This computer used to boot in seconds. No new software installed. Any ideas. Other than booting very slow it runs fast.

ilike can help you..i think there's a tool you can run to see how many times your SSD has been accessed. what brand SSD do you have? there's a hiccup with the EVOs you have to work around.

I'll be back after COD.
Tell me SSD brand. Windows experience index is stupid.
First thing you need to do is unplug every other drive. Optical, HDD, externals, etc., and then try to boot to SSD. Failing/malfunctioning drives attached to the system will affect boot times significantly.
Try running diskfresh as well: LINK
EDIT: Oh, an EVO. Before you do anything, download and install and run this: LINK
It will take a little while. It updates your firmware and then runs a full refresh/rewrite of the drive. You won't lose any data.
Then start unplugging drives if that doesnt help.
Do all that, and I'll be back later.

Thanks for the tip. Samsung EVO is expensive but it crawls now. Will disconnect other drives if this does not fix problem. Have 1 TB raptor and 4 TB WD caviar that appear to be working fine.

Consider any external hard drives or connected flash drives, DVD/BDR/CD/whatever drives. Even try unplugging keyboard and mouse. Could be a driver not initializing suddenly. Logitech Gaming Software does that sometimes.
Assuming the Samsung fix doesn't work, of course.
