On demand programming, plus local channels. And if they can bring in ESPN (they are in negotiations) then I'm IN!!

I literally just cut the cord on direct tv. I'm doing just fine with my Netflix and my buddy's espn log in, but I am excited about this!

Looks loke $55 dollar range.

New pricing structures haven't been announced for individual channels, but the original bundled tiers didn't break from traditional television pricing, and cost from $49.99 to $69.99 per month.

I wouldn't plan on it happening anytime soon.

What's the point of cutting the cord if you're still going to pay cable/satellite prices?

Truck drivers would buy the shite out of this, a dish, or direct TV set up for a truck is around 600 bucks, then programming each month.
Seems to me there is an automatic market for it.

So you didn't cut the cord.

Because that is the bundled price, the difference between cable/satellite is that is your only choice.

Playstation Vue is going to offer a la carte channels, pick whatever channels you want to pay for.

I hope not. Too many 18-wheeler wrecks on the highway already.

I don't get it.

Also, not having ESPN is a huge problem for cord-cutters. At some point some company is going to be able to bring espn on board but until then it's hard to be a genuine cord-cutter.

Not having ESPN was a reason I kept cable as long as I did. But I'm fine with the firstrow feeds and the others.

SlingTV has ESPN and ESPN 2 in the base package ($20), and for $5 more a month you get ESPN U, SEC Network, ESPN News, ESPN Bases Loaded, and a couple others.

You also get WatchESPN.

interesting. Is it like netflix where you can just pay for one month then cancel? What about the quality of feeds. hd? I've used firstrow but sometimes I can't see the fricking football.

Sure, you can cancel whenever you want. That's the beauty of it. I can sub to HBO for Game of Thrones and cancel after the season's over if I want to.

Cnet on Quality:

Does the picture look as good as cable?
Not quite, but it's still very good. In our testing Sling TV came close to Verizon Fios' HD channel quality at its best, but did look slightly softer. It did briefly drop in quality when moving to a new channel, and there were other occasional picture quality drops, but on our high-speed connection it was mostly delivered at the highest quality with excellent stability. Picture quality on smaller screen devices was also very good.

I think the only downside is only one device at a time for now :/
