Anyone have recommendations for a smart watch/fitness tracker. Looking for standalone GPS and the ability to play music. Also would like ruggedness and decent battery life. Needs to be compatible with Android, and under $300.

Thanks in advance

What kind of fitness are you wanting to track? If it's just running, there are plenty of options, but if you need it to track more there are less options.

I found this device that will track most CrossFit exercises LINK, but it doesn't have all of the other features you are looking for. I ordered the Atlas and it is set to come in tomorrow, so I look forward to trying it out.

I'm in the market too. I'm on my third charge hr and I love it but it falls apart within 6 months. I thought I'd get a charge 2 but I read reviews and have heard that it's not near as accurate as the charge hr. maybe something new will come out this year.

Mostly use for running, and hiking. I would like for it to be compatible with Android wear.

I've been looking at the Samsung gear fit 2 (if only Samsung didn't have to put their own shitty software on it) and the Moto 360 (reviews say battery life is pretty bad)

Just wondering if there were any similar devices I should be looking at

Garmin forerunner 25 is a great basic GPS watch. If you want heart rate monitoring without an additional device, spring for the 35.

Bumping thread to ask question.

Has anyone tried the Timex IQ Move watches? Worth a damn?

What are you aiming for?

Gps, notifications, heart rate, lap timing?

I just did 2 months of research and that didn't come up but I was pretty particular in what I wanted.

Why not just get the new Samsung Gear S3 Frontier? I have it and it's a great watch.

Something I can wear during the day with casual business attire.

Heart Rate, calories, steps, whatever interval timing is normal with other fitness oriented tracking devices.

garmin fenix or forerunner 235 would be my vote, but i'm a garmin homer.

the amazfit pace i linked before looks pretty good for business casual in my opinion.

LINK

start there and then just whittle down based on what you want. i watched for weeks for discounts till the one i wanted dropped about 20%

Just to update. I ended up with the Moto 360 sport. I really like is so far. The battery is the worst part, I have to charge it every 2 days.

Heart rate and gps seem pretty accurate. The watch is very lightweight and comfortable. And I got a refurbished off eBay for 70 bucks

I haven't every worn a watch before so I decided to not spend to much on one at first. I have been so pleased with this, that I am considering upgrading to one with better water proofing and battery, and giving this to my wife.

I don't see that as an issue unless you wear it 24/7 to track sleep.

It's not a huge issue, but I am a firefighter so I spend every other night at the station. Making sure I have it charged is the only thing I have to worry about. Of course, I could just buy a second charger for the station
