Should I upgrade my Mid 2010 MBP to Yosemite?

Getting ready to do a mid 2010 Mini. But I have 16G ram. Had developers that used Mac way more than me recommend not doing it till I had the memory. Was at 4G about a week ago.

Will let you know what my experience is.

I upgraded my mid 2010. Like it so far. Only thing that seems slow is opening MS office programs/documents but I am pretty confident I'm just using them more now and noticing it.

The rest seems pretty snappy

I ordered 8 GB of ram a little while ago and am going to upgrade to Yosemite after. Is it difficult to install?

Welp - now the not so good.

When I hit went to use the mac this morning, the mouse would move around, but it would not allow me to select anything... so I stared at the login prompt and could not type in my password.

Left it alone for a few minutes, came back and it was asleep again. When it woke, the login buttons were on my left monitor (usually the 'side' monitor) but the mouse was stuck in the right monitor.

Had to leave the house so I haven't gotten any troubleshooting done on it.

Troubleshooting update - I was able to access the desktop via TeamViewer and it worked fine.

Put it into sleep mode again overnight and didn't have the same issue upon coming out of it this morning.

So, maybe it was just a one time thing.

Other than that, it's been running very well on the 2010 mini.
