Just ordered an open box Ipad pro on Best Buy website. It was Best buy certified. Should I get an Applecare plan?

I always get AppleCare on phones because I have it with me 24/7 and I don't use a bulky case, only the apple leather one. So I've had some screens break. With an iPad I don't buy it because I only use it when traveling (not often). I also didnt buy it for my MacBook Pro because the only problem I've ever had in 13 years using an apple laptop is a hard drive failure, and that went away with SSDs.

AppleCare is a waste of money. Buy a case and you will be good. If, somehow, you crack the screen, pay Apple the $150 to replace it.

applecare is worth it in every instance IMO.

Just nice to have that peace of mind that no matter what happens to it, its covered.

Just IMO.

Busted glass of brand new phone I bought and had only for two weeks a couple of weeks ago. Had to buy a new phone again because it was the same price as new glass and I didn't buy Best Buy protection plan. Bought it with most recent phone.

Got four tires, 50,000 miles ones, two years ago. Naturally I didn't get road hazard and then had to replace three of them at various times. Got it now.

See why I might be a little spooked into buying Applecare?

Besides the peace of mind... the other unspoken benefit to having Apple Care is the treatment you get from Apple when you do have it. I've had a Genius Bar (ugh) employee go from rolling his eyes at my problem to giving me a new phone, no questions asked. It's like a secret handshake... that anyone can get for around 200 bucks.

I have bought new glass for an iPhone 5s on eBay twice and installed it for less than $30. I guess after the first install was so easy I became careless. Takes about 45 minutes as you have to swap some of the components but no sobering involved just plug and play.

A 5S is nothing to repair to compared to a 6S or a 7.

Went ahead and got it at Apple store today. Lady told me they no longer replace just the glass if it's broken. Have to get another iPad.

Like I said, with my luck, nope. I've been burned too much this year.
