Who has done this? Is this something easy? The reason I feel the need to do it is because the only way for me to record phone calls(work training) is to have it rooted. I've tried every app there is and it will not work without root.

Beyond easy. Just remember you will be resetting your phone so anything you need you should download or backup to cloud before you start.

Google wugfresh nexus root toolkit. You're welcome.

Eta read each step of the process VERY carefully so you understand what you're actually doing when you unlock and "root".

The toolkit itself will tell you everything you need to know and walk you through the process like you're a 5yo.

Unless you've done this manually in the old days you don't get an appreciation of just how nice this toolkit makes it and how much wug has automated.

I find that hard to believe, with all the technology that's out there right now. That sucks.

It's because Android and ios are following regulations that would prevent their acceptance in certain vertical markets.

If they allowed recorded calls they would lose sales in certain industries. There are many head scratching features you can't do with root for this same reason.

This. I set aside 2 hours to do it and, from start to finish, it took less than 30 minutes.

while not a necessity, tis better to have root and not need it than not have it and need it.
