About to buy a house and going to cut the cord. I'm pretty sold on PSVue but don't have a PlayStation. Which one of these platforms best fits Vue, while considering price as I'm going to have to buy 3-5. TIA

Roku. Hands down. I have a Smart TV, both gens of Apple TV, I have Prime Video through Prime and I have a Roku Player integrated into my TV on the patio.

Roku has the largest, best variety of streaming content channels you can imagine. No one else comes close.

Now an argument could be made that if you load Kodi onto a Firestick it immediately jumps to the front, but that's apples and oranges IMO.

Firetv, or buy a new sony tv with android tv, or the tv's with built in rokus for the kids and/or outside.

And I only say firetv for Kodi. If not for that, I'd say it's a piece of crap.

Roku. Hands down...

Everything you said was true up until about 6 months ago. I noticed my Roku started getting apps after other platforms and the PSVue app for Roku was so bad when it did come out that I bought a Fire TV and haven't looked back.

To answer the OP, the Fire TV works great for PSVue. I have the box, not the stick, but the consensus seems to be that the lesser RAM in the stick makes it not as snappy and smooth as the box. So if this is for your main TV don't cheap out with the stick.

I have fire stick, firetv and Roku ultra. Overall I like the Roku the best BUT the psvue interface is better on the firetv.

I find the firetv UI to be annoying and fire stick is slow at times.

That's the issue.
If you're just going with Vue, then yeah the Firetv is better than the Roku b/c of the lack of a guide on the Roku.
The Roku has every channel out there.
I can't stand the UI on the Firetv. I still don't really know how to search for a damn app, and it tries syncing up with my tv and then my tv remote starts controlling it but it sucks at it. It's just a pain in the arse if you ask me.

Go get you a new 65" Sony Androidtv and don't look back. Has Vue and sling, WatchESPN, Netlfix, Hulu, Plex, Vudu, and best of all, Kodi. Run you an antenna to it, and you've got 1 device, 1 remote, and everything you need.

I've had a Firestick for a year and I feel like I must be missing something? I have an Apple TV that I use primarily. What's so great about the Firestick? (Honest question). I've only used it to watch Amazon shows

I use Apple TV and have directv now and never had a problem on it. Only thing I don't like is because of the Apple update you will lose kodi and provenance on it. I only use firestick for kodi and retro games. Live tv on firestick sucks.

Fire tv + Kodi is better than Roku.

I have both and like both.

Get Fire TV over Firestick.

You may be confusing the fire tv box with the firestick. Firestick sucks pretty hard IMO, especially for VUE. I purchased a Fire tv box, and it works great with the VUE. I bought a Roku 1 for my bedroom TV for like $35 on Groupon, and it's adequate. Not as good as Fire tv box, but much better than the firestick.

you'd be crazy to go with a firestick over a firetv given firetv has better components, more storage & memory, faster processor, supports 4K, handles kodi with ease, etc etc.

You're right- sorry. Mine is just the little dongle that plugs into the HDMI port. I was wondering what all the fuss was about

I like that you can plug fire tv into your modem.

The Roku I have is built into a TCL TV. I love It and it works well.

Firestick can have issues with some of the streaming services like Vue, DirectTV Now, Sling. FireTV, Roku, AppleTV will all be great though. Firestick is just too slow. Sometimes the picture will hesitate and you have to pause and press play again.
