have any of you received your Pixel XL 2 yet? If so have you noticed any issues with the screen? I ordered mine but I keep seeing that the screens are having issues.

Google will pretty much replace it instantly if your screen has issues.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. I imagine it's true that at an angle it will have a blue tint but how often do you use your phone at an angle?

The washed out colors are on purpose and google has already hinted they may do a software update where you can make the colors more vibrant if you want. They have a 10% increase option already.

Not in this case from what I've been reading. Google has said that the "problem" people are describing was intentional to produce more true-to-life colors. There is also a blue tint when viewed from an angle (which all screens distort color at an angle, but apparently this one is pretty bad), and now I'm reading about early screen burn-in issues.


I'm going to hold off on choosing a replacement for my Nexus6, but as of now I'm leaning toward the Pixel 2 rather than the 2XL.

While the screen may not be technically broken if you get it in and you don't like it you can still return it with no worries I'm pretty sure.

youll be able to RMA a burn in for at least 2 years. no questions asked.

Google will send ya a new one the next day.

but ya, if you just think the display is dull youre going to be stuck with after the trial period

I feel like it's almost a given Google will release a software update to allow the user to make the colors more vivid.

And I think the bluish look when tilted is being blown out of proportion. It didn't bother me much when I checked out the display unit at the Verizon store.

Now... the screen burn-in has me contemplating canceling my order until we get more info. Mine is supposed to be shipped Wednesday. ..

i feel ya. i honestly do not see the need to cancel, personally. Google will refund you completely for an issue such burn-in. ive mentioned before but i used the nexus 6p for over 2 years, the battery would shut off at 40%, and google gave me a complete refund. it was like using the phone free for 2 years.

if the burn-in is a widespread issue, there will also be a massive recall im assuming.

Another reason I'm considering canceling my order is I kinda want that panda colorway.

I thought it was weird looking at first but now I really like it.

Searching for more reviews on YouTube I came across this guy talking about the screen issues. He seems to know what he's talking about (I'm not a tech guy so he may be full of shite), and I felt more comfortable with letting my order stand.
