We have Comcast 50 mbps plan. I have my own modem and router, but our wifi seems very slow all the time. We currently have a Motorola sb6121 modem and a cheap tp-link n300 wireless router.

I need suggestions on a new wireless router that will get better range and is faster. We stream a lot over roku, and use two tablets for basic internet surfing.

I'm sure there are better ones available, but I have a D-Link DIR-850L AC1200 router that I've been pleased with.

I have the ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router and got it from Amazon.

I am very pleased with the coverage. When the grand kids are here they are on their ipads on the other side of the house, I am watching a ball game in the den, wife is on netflix and all is well.

I would buy this again. aesus router

Stay away.

I have the N66 but it looks like the Archer C7 has become the better deal.

Apple Airport Express. I used to have issues all the time with routers until I got this one.

Of the ones linked in this thread, what all devices are you using on them? I have a Mac Mini, a pair of iphones, a pair of ipads, a Kindle Fire, and a Fire Stick. Of course not all running at once, but I'd like to be able to stream stuff for the kids or WatchESPN for me, and still be able to have someone using the phones or ipads. I would say at most 3-4 devices at once running. Just the wife doing facebook/instagram and web on her ipad or phone while the kids are watching cartoons. My router is ancient and I know I need to update it with something newer. Would the Apple version be better since I'm using Apple products mainly?

If my PC is in the bedroom connected to the Comcast cable modem/router can I connect a cable modem to my Xbox 360 to provide a direct connection? Do I need another router at the TV/Xbox? I constantly get disconnected from Xbox Live while playing Destiny.

I have been looking at the Motorola surfboard modem but not sure if it's what I need. Any info or recommendations would be appreciated.
