I've had an idea for sometime now but curious if anyone has any ideas or expertise.

Theory:
I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-50 with a Zone B and a Zone 2. I don't want to wire my outdoor speakers as I don't believe I can do it without a pro. installer. I have a fire block wall that only has a small hole cut and wiring that through there would be a nightmare.

So, I'd like to see if I could somehow plug in like a rocketfish Bluetooth receiver to Zone B on the receiver and then have a Bluetooth speaker connect to that and play my TV sound outdoors. This would be for football games, etc.

Is this doable?
1) Bluetooth option
2) Rear Speaker Reciever Kit

Option 2 will definitely work but I'm hesitant as it's outdoors, in New Orleans. The humidity might eat this up.

Really really curious if anyone has ever done anything remotely related to Option #1 in previous post? Is Bluetooth on a "Zone" possible to play music from the TV?

I think your option 1 is just a bluetooth receiver which would make your speakers receive a bluetooth signal, but you need something on the Zone output actively sending a bluetooth signal to the bluetooth receiver on the speakers, which is your Option 2.

I am in the market for a new receiver so I was hoping to find one with this built-in, but I have yet to find one in my price range which can send to Zone 2 via bluetooth.

Yea, I was afraid of that for option 1. It's amazing this hasn't been easily / affordably solved in 2015.

Bluetooth sucks.

Do you have a wireless network outside ?

Whatcha mean? Like WiFi? My home internet extends to my deck. I think you may be talking about something else though?

Even if you had a Bluetooth (signal) connection, you'd still have to have a source of power to your speakers. So you'd either have to have an outlet nearby or run a power wire to the speakers.

Imo, you'd be better off biting the bullet and getting an electrician to help you run speaker wiring outside (if you're not up for it)

I'm thinking I may just get this done when I have some spare $$. Who should I contact?

My main issue is that in the main wall where this runs, there's a firewall that people don't want or even like to drill in to get wires through it. The installer would have to go through that and up to my attic and then drop the wiring outside. The firewall piece is my pain in the arse.

I feel like if I got someone from BestBuy to assist, it'd be overpriced and some teenager who's barely experienced.

Yeah, but the solution I was thinking of won't work with your receiver.

Option 2 will work but what's the wattage ?

Proficient used to make a piece called airflex that worked great. It's had a 50x2 amp on it.

Just mount it somewhere out of the weather.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't use Best Buy for anything installation wise.

I'm not familiar with electricians in NOLA, but if you know one, I would look for someone that does work on the side.

In Lafayette, most of the security companies also install speaker systems and have employees that can do wiring

Edit:
Fwiw. There are various fire barrier sealants available to seal penetrations in fire walls

I just run my outdoor speakers with an old receiver I keep in an armoire on the cabana. My house was wired with connections outside, but I find it a pain to use the inside processor for outside music.

ETA - Just saw you wanted to do football. Won't you need an anlogue input workaround to get football audio in zone 2?

In theory, yes. But I have a "Zone B" that I could just use. Currently my Zone B is connected to 2 speakers that could simply be moved outside.
