any suggestions on a way to get a channel guide for OTA channels? I'd seen mention of one with Tivo, but I don't need DVR functionality.

If you've got Windows 7, Windows Media Center includes one for free. Pretty sure it also comes with XBox One. Microsoft has deprecated WMC and switched guide suppliers last year. It broke the guide to the point that it was unusable. I switched to Tivo and couldn't be happier. It's probably the best guide out there but you do have to pay for it ($150 a year). Tivo includes the major streaming channels so you don't need a separate Roku-type box. In addition to standard DVR, the Tivo recorder allows you to pause live TV and resume, a very handy feature. If you have more than one TV, you can add Tivo Minis without incurring an additional charge. The Tivo also comes with four tuners and is self-contained so you don't need a dedicated computer.

I use titantv.com:

If you have a TV tuner in your pc it will also launch a program and serve as a DVR.
