Palo Alto is a legitimate source... Similar "attack vectors" targeting Chinese have been discovered in pirated iOS apps over the last year.

i'm a Palo Alto reseller. i've been getting a shitton of exploit updates from them the last couple of weeks.

That's a cop out.

You and I both know the people who do still sync their phones this way are the ones most likely to be exploited.

I don't sync my phone but every new Android gets rooted out of the box using a PC toolkit.

Your peers and my peers don't do this for normal phone updates but the soccer moms and fox news junkies certainly do.
