I just had a pool installed. I am now about to start my outdoor kitchen. I was looking at using a marine deck and boat speakers but the Ac to Dc conversion is probing to be an issue. Pyle has a waterproof AC stereo that seems to push 8 ohm speakers pretty well from what I have read. Anyone have any recommendations regarfing head units and speakers that are ok in an outdoor setting. I will likely install the speakers in my soffett under my eaves. And the stereo will likely be under the covered area of my outdoor kitchen but I do not plan on ever bringing it indoors. I would like to keep the price reasonable.

i started out this route, but given the wear & tear on outdoor electronics, i can no longer justify anything permanent.

i'd recommend getting the big jambox or other killer portable bluetooth speaker and having it live nearby (it will run all day on battery) and take it in when you're done.

those BT speakers are just too good these days and too easy to control with your phone to justify rigging up a whole outdoor system.

thats just my opinion. i also like the fact i can move the speaker around if the party moves elsewhere and i'm not 'nailed down' by the location i set the speakers in.

Def will not be buying a Sonos. But I would like something that does not need to be tethered to our phone. We have a few different Bluetooth speakers already. But I would actually like to go to a permanent system.
