My laptop is making a grinding/scratching noise when I press down on shift key

It almost sounds like it's rubbing up against the hard drive.
What do I do?
It doesn't happen every time just when I press down a little harder than normal.

If it's grinding/scratching it's probably either hitting a fan or a CD/DVD. Don't press so hard.

I'm pressing down with my left (non-dominant hand) pinky with very little pressure.

Because everything is made in China for cheap now a days.
