Just started here recently but it appears that Microsoft is starting to cut the prices of their wildly popular Surface Pro 3 line. This can only mean that we will be getting the Surface Pro 4 soon in my opinion.

I'm in the market for a new laptop and the Surface Pro 3 has been at the top of my list for a while but I have been holding out on buying one because I want to see what the Surface Pro 4 will have to offer. Hopefully we will have something by June/July.

I think June/July is about the target release for 10 so hopefully they have their lineup READY for release.

I'm in the boat of waiting for the damn flagship phone which probably will be an even longer wait than the Surface 4.

I'm so ready for Windows 10 it's not even funny. That's the only reason I'm waiting because I want a machine that was built along with Windows 10. I know it will run well on a Surface Pro 3 but just having the model that was made for it just seems more appealing to me.

It was developed with and on Sirface Pro's and 2's and 3'. Surface Pro 4's are more than likely very nearly-read: not quite-ready for release. There's no way they designed it for the SP4 by developing it on 2's and 3's. Your preference isn't really based in logic when you think about it.

I didn't say it was developed specifically on/for the SP4. I meant the Surface Pro 4 was developed to work well with Windows 10. My wording may have been a little weird.

Doesn't mean it wasn't optimized for better equipment. Just means it works on lower end gear too.

Pretty much no different than andriod, apple or any OS created to work on multiple devices but working better with higher end gear.

Not sure what shitty point you were thinking you made.

I'll be happy when windows 10 is here as i'm not a big windows 8 fan what so ever but it seems like on the touchscreen tablets it's not that bad, it just doesn't make a damn bit of sense for desktop usage. oh and they rearranged things again on everyone which sucks but quite honestly is going to happen from time to time so whatever.

It's surprising how many people don't realize how easy it is to boot to desktop by default, and just install classic shell. Then you get all the benefits of Windows 8.1 without the metro interface.

EDIT: And I'm not sure why there is any concern over what hardware was used to develop Win 10...
