MacBook Pro keeps giving me "!" on grey wifi symbol

Every time I close my laptop, the next time I open it the wifi bars swell up and down and I get the exclamation mark. It's done this ever since I got Cox but it usually connects in a second or two. Now I have to disconnect and reconnect 10 times or so to get it to connect which takes forever. I'm literally 5 feet from the modem. Ps4, Xbox, phone, etc all connect to wifi perfectly, and my computer connects to other wifi perfectly

I had a similar issue when i upgraded to yosemite.
Wound up having to delete a good bit of the networks saved and re-enter them.
I cant remember what all else i had to do, but it was annoying.

Sorry I'm late to the party Carson. Did you try deleting the saved login from your computer and adding it back?
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>Delete the network name
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>Delete the network name

did you restart the computer fully after deleting them, then readding them?
I cant remember what the hell i did to fix it, but also you have to make sure to hit "apply" as well.
