Did anyone here have the installation loop? Were you able to fix it?

AdBFire is running.
The device is connected.

I've deleted and downloaded and run the program about 5 times. Deleted and downloaded the Kodi pack several times.

I've reset the fire tv and rebooted both the fire tv and the computer numerous times.

I've disabled my antivirus and firewall then rebooted and tried.

Can't get the damn thing out of the install loop. The green bar fills, then starts over.

Looks like many people have this problem but I haven't seen any good solutions.

download kodi from the appstore on amazon and have it installed on the AFTV.

It won't sync with the fire tv. From everything I have read you need to still do all of the steps to side load it.

When you get Kodi from the app store online you get a message that you don't have any compatible devices.

Ok maybe it's on there.

You know how to dig into the menu and find it?

I know where it should show up and it isn't there.

Some security setting in Windows 8 must be blocking ADB even when the firewall and antivirus is turned off.

Did you set your firetv to allow debugging and allow install unknown apps? Make sure you have that set, then reboot the firetv and check to make sure the changes are still there.

I still had the loop after that, but I let it run a couple times and closed adbfire. When I checked on my firetv xbmc was installed, I just never got the confirmation popup.

Yes.

I've done all the steps from several installation guides.

Just keeps reloading loop.

Doesn't show up as loaded on the fire.

I'll try again tonight with all security turned off. Maybe hard wire the fire to the network if I have a spare cat cable.

Try using the Amazon FireTV Utility App instead of adbfire to install.

I had same problem with Adbfire last night. The amazon fire utility installed without problem.

Also tried the FireTV Utility App.

I get an error message on that one, but it disappears before I can read the error.

Don't remember if I tried it without the virus and firewall. I'll try that again tonight.

Nothing works.

I switched to Firetv Utility and at least I get error messages.

The main being

error: more than one device and emulator
waiting for device
error: protocol fault

When I run adb devices

emulator-5554 offline
192.168.xx.xxx.xxxx device

I've rebooted computer and firetv

I've run kill-server

Kill server closes the 2nd device but not the offline emulator.

I've read a million pages. Several people have this problem but nobody has responded with help.

Have you tried installing manually from the terminal screen on your computer? This is how I did it before I found adbfire.

LINK

ETA: Seems a common cause of the loop problem is having an android emulator running on your computer. Bluestacks being the most common one people mention. See if you have anything like that running.

emulator 5554 offline appears to be the problem and I can't make it go away and have no clue what it is.

emulator 5554

run
adb -e reboot or
adb -d reboot ...but there is a bug in windows that sometimes wont let you kill the emulator.

go to Run and type services.msc and see if bluestacks is running in there.

Netstat saved me.

Finally found a post explaining that it wasn't 5554 that was the problem.

If 5555 is being used then it shows 5554 offline.

So I needed to find what else was using 5555.

Found someone who explained using netstat -o

then checking to see the PID for 5555.

Then opening task manager then processes, then finding the number from netstat.

Fracking Corsair Link for my water cooler.

Uninstalled the corsair software and kodi slipped right on in like a hot dog in the hallway.
