KB/Trackpad Help - Macbook Air (Early 2014)

So I want to start out with stating I'm not a Mac guy and we aren't a Mac shop, but this is basically just helping a friend's daughter out. I really don't know heads or tails about OSX.
Anyways, on to the issue... Macbook Air E2014 model, running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5, KB and Trackpad work ONLY to log in. After login they are completely unresponsive, plugging in a USB KB and mouse work just fine. In Sys Prefs it shows the Trackpad is no installed - not turned off, not disabled, literally not there at all. "No trackpad found".
User thinks it happened when a friend of hers tried to pair a bluetooth KB/M with the mac, which makes sense, but she doesn't have access to that KB/M any longer. Regardless, shes a user and users lie so I only put so much stock into what she says.
After researching a bit on the apple forums (which, by the way, are cancer -like poli board on election night cancer- dont ever ever go there) I've tried the following things, none of which have worked at all.
Deleted all the .plists
SMC Reset
PRAM Reset
Verify/Repair the hard disk
Created new elevated user
I'm about to try a reinstall of the OS, but I have yet to see anyone say that worked either.
Does anyone have a clue what actually happened and how to fix this damn thing?

Yeah, its not mouse keys or whatever. Reinstall of the OS didn't work either.
Its either firmware or the user lied about damage.

Does the system report show anything out of the ordinary? (About this mac-system report)
If not I would back up user data and ghost the machine and start over and see if that helps.
Somehow it seems the user is corrupted as it appears the hardware is working.
