Been fine for me. I travel a good bit for work and it's awesome in my carry on luggage.

Get a laptop then...

Surface 3 screen is plenty large enough and the thing actually runs desktop programs. IPad pro being a laptop replacement is a joke to me.

The joke is that they are even comparing it to the Surface Pro.

It is nothing more than a Surface. But, even the Surface now runs the full Windows operating system albeit slowly.

Ipad Pro has a mobile processor, runs mobile programs, doesn't offer the stylus for free and the keyboard is more expensive.

Put out a product that compares to the mid level, call it the Pro and get Apple sheep to claim victory.

It actually might be the King of Tablets, but sorry it isn't in the same category as the Surface Pro which clearly they claim it compares to. Why else name it Pro?

I don't know how anyone with half a brain Would think of buying the iPad pro over the surface. Surface is where it's at when it comes to mobile computing.

I'm sure the Ipad will be a great device for some but for people already running Windows at work, this isn't going to get anyone to drop their Surface Pro.

If they can't get the enterprise business then it is a bit of a head-scratcher because it is overkill for a tablet.

Surface Pro 4 is rumored to come in 12-inch and 14-inch versions, so that takes care of that.

Because it follows sort of the same naming scheme that Apple has been using quite awhile on the Macbooks. The smaller iPad is the Air, just like the smaller Macbook. The larger iPad is the Pro, just like the larger Macbook. I know this board is mostly anti-Apple, but holy shite people.

With that said, I have a Surface Pro from work, and a personal iPad Air 2. I really don't think they're meant to be marketed to the same people. The iPad is great for what 90% of people at home use a computer for, I doubt it's really aimed at the enterprise. The Surface Pro is a great tablet/laptop replacement that you can do actual work on.

I've read tons of articles since it came out comparing it to the Surface Pro from Apple Fan sites. It sure seems like it WAS meant to be competition to the SP which is a joke. And as you see from the OP, hook line and sinker, the sheep are buying the comparison.

It might be a great tablet but it still runs ios. As such it will never be used in large enterprise environments.

Interesting that many have come in and trashed the I Pad Pro

I watched the hour long program about the product, I suspect many who commented didn't watch it?

They even brought in this guy from Microsoft development team to show how Microsoft office will run on the I pad Pro

The screen is off the charts. basically a 4k equivalent.
They boast 10 hours of battery
New OS as well...at least they implied it
12.9 screen

and 360 times more processing power than the I Pad 2

What can windows do that the I pad can not do in enterprise environments?

you're in the "field"..give me a real example of where it comes up short?

I an a builder who has a Samsung Note 4 which is 8 inch...I like it ok, but the darn thing is way too small, the keyboard is stupid and runs off Blue tooth which is a pain to sync.

my next purchase needs to be bigger, LTE capable...do basics really well.

too much fancy and let's be honest, most users never learn to use

like size and keyboard

Compatibility........... many enterprise environments run on windows based servers and have customized programs that are windows based. We do far more then run Microsoft office. Organizations have no interest in rebuilding an environment to use a apple based tablet.

I'm not trashing the pro, i have a surface pro, i-phone and ipad however ios just does not work as a viable enterprise solution.

Try running a remote session from an ipad to a windows server ...it sucks.

RE: iOS to Win remote...have you ever used the Mikogo App? I've done a session-crudely but I'll get to that-using it fairly easily.

Using a 16GB iPad 2 of all things.
