Jail breaking Apple TV 4th gen

Can this be done out the box? Or is it limited to an older iOS for it?
I'm planning on buying one this afternoon and taking it home and getting to work on it. But if the current iOS don't have a jailbreak, then I have to go another option.

There is no current jailbreak that last longer than a week.

What is the benefit for jailbreaking an Apple TV? I've done an iPhone before and I know the benefits, but what 3rd party apps can you load on an Apple TV that make it worth the effort? Do people sideload Kodi onto it?
