iTunes now able to be opened after update

A few months back, Windows put out an update. I'm not sure if it was because of that update, but the next time I tried to open iTunes, it wouldn't. When I'd click on the desktop icon, the cursor would show that it was working for just a fraction of a second, and then nothing would happen. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

I never really pursued a fix because I rarely use iTunes. Anyway, I woke up this morning to an iTunes update, installed it, and now it opens easily.

Did this issue happen to anyone else?
