Go to Contacts, click on the group, click on more, then export.

does that really do anything other than just send him the list of people on the email. I can copy/paste that.
I was wanting to share the distribution with him. Thus if i have it labeled "Wink group" he can just type "Wink group" into his email and it will email all of the people on the distribution i created.
I'm guessing it's not possible.

It exports it into a csv file, and there's a field in it for Group Membership. When it gets imported into another gmail account, the group membership carries over, so it would create a Wink group if your friend didn't already have one.
ETA: The csv file will have all of your groups that each contact is in. So if person A is in a Wink group and a TD group, you'll need to go into the csv file and edit the Group Membership field. Might be good to review the csv file to make sure your friend doesn't import any personal data that you don't want him to see, such as phone numbers, addresses, etc.

You don't give a lot of info. Is this for personal or professional use?
Will the new person send email to this group often?
One technique I used at the office was to save an email sent to a group. When I wanted to send a group email to that group, I would "reply all" to the saved email and I would change the subject and body message to my new info.
I could then add or delete individual recipients.
This way I did not have to junk up my email contact list with many names I rarely used.

personal. I didnt really want to send a test email because usually when i email the group i bcc since there are 120 people on there and i dont like a reply all chain to erupt.
I just copy/pasted all 120 emails and sent them to him. I could have done the csv file but at this point he was fine with it and i guess he'll build his own distribution the old fashion way.

Thanks for the response. I had not considered the BCC issue since my experience was with the business email.
If you could just teach my sister and her friends to use "BCC" I would stop getting the random "reply all" responses they sometimes send.

Great. Now I'll get a dozen copies of Uncle Fred's chain email.
