Mossberg's recent article questioning Apple's move in not updating the design misses one key point.

I am guessing "Half" of the iPhone population doesn't give a fig about the iPhone 7 anyway. S cycle users such as myself realized it was the winning team to be on years ago and now we get to reap the benefit for valuing substance over style.

Apple is rewarding S cycle owners, for the last 8 years we have always seemed like the slow nannas with our old timer designs while the in crowd showed up with their shiny new barely better phones.

Next year, our glory awaits, the savvy 6s owners and even the stalwart 5s owners are going to romp home with the most fangled pocket symbol of tech superiority the world has seen since the 3GS...the completely redesigned all-glass curved screen home buttonless iPhone Series 10!

I just buy one every year and reap the benefits of both sides of the fence.

Sell for $450 on Swappa = $200 to upgrade every year

Except that most people I know upgrade every year now

Eta: I was going to hold off, but now I want the camera of the 7+(the camera is always the biggest draw for me when upgrading). I wish Apple would do something like an iPhone Pro with a vastly superior camera. Could be a bit thicker, or have a protruding lense and I wouldn't care. I loved my Lumia1020.

Kinda missed the boat on that since 2 year cycles are dead with yearly upgrade plans and other means to get one yearly now.

iPhone 4: first iPhone with an A-series SoC, first with Retina Screen

iPhone 5: first with LTE, first 16:9 screen
