I've had it less than a year, and it started acting up about 5-6 weeks ago. I have an appointment at the Genius bar in about an hour and a half from now. But I thought I'd drop in here in case anyone has had similar issues and how you got it resolved.

I can unlock it, and most of the time it will work fine. When it has been in my pocket for a while, sometimes it will freeze up. Replying to a text or reading an email and it will just quit responding to touch. Usually I can lock it and then unlock it, and it works fine after that. Sometimes it takes repeating this a time or two. Sometimes I just do a hard reset, and that seems to fix it for a while. I've restored it to factory setup, I've upgraded to the latest iOS, and I have reset it on the computer instead of doing a factory reset from the phone. It still has issues. I think it is hardware related and not the software, but it could be.

It is still under warranty, so I'm hoping they will replace the screen or just give me a replacement phone if that isn't an option. I've never got it wet, and it has been in an otterbox since the day I bought it.

I actually just left there with the same issue. I have a 6 plus which is not under warranty. After waiting an hour and a half, it took them about 2 seconds to determine I need a new phone.

The wonderful news is that you get $250 for your phone trade in bringing the price of my new phone down to only $600.

What a fricking bargain.

Ouch. Thankfully mine is under warranty. I had 62 days left on it since I bought it last September. They gave me a new one, and extended the warranty on it to 90 days.

FYI, it was a problem with the motherboard. She ran some diagnostics and asked a few questions. She said there was something in the report about my mail app crashing, which is weird because I had not had any issues with it. She also ran some multi-touch test and after that she told me it was the motherboard and since they can't replace those I was getting a new phone.

Sweet. Pretty sure we had the same exact issue. Glad you were able to get it taken care of.

My 6+ is having similar issues. Guess I will get it replaced while still under warranty.
