I went ahead and got the 7 plus with the promo. Figured I'm coming out better than selling it 3rd party anyway.

Have a 6+ currently and have a 7+ ordered. With the $650 trade in deal I couldn't pass it up.

Is everyone here confusing matte black and regular black and completely ignoring jet black, or am I missing something?

They meant jet black by matte black

It did seem like a no brainer taking the credit to go from 6 to the 7+, even if I don't see the full credits over the length I think I come out ok on the deal. Could be some secret wording I didn't catch I'll get fricked on because it is At&t

But matte literally means dull and without shine.

The dull one is the matte black and the super shiny one is the jet black.

Sorry - this was bothering me

gotcha but if you don't keep the phone for 2 years you lose the credits....so if you want the 8 next year you'd be fricked

you need to keep your carrier for the next 2 years, not the phone. you just might not qualify for the same promo if they run it in a year on the 8.

like the other guy said, ill worry about that in a year.

Next year is the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone. Supposed to be a big release. I have a 6+ and am going three years without an upgrade for the first time since the OG iPhone > iPhone 4

If I don't get the 7 ( and I probably won't since I'm on the SE now), it'll be the first upgrade I missed since the original came out.

The first time I didn't upgrade was last year. The days where I have to have the latest device each year are long gone. My 6+ is more than enough to do what I need so there's no reason for me upgrade every year like I have in the past.

Traded in my 6 and got the 7 matte black. Guy said I could trade it in in a year for another one if I want.

I've always upgraded pretty much every other year, but nothing on the 7 has me wanting to. It seems like something you would see on the refresh cycle. Should call it the 6SS. I've always been huge into apple but they need to step it up honestly.

I have it set at AT&T to upgrade every year, but I have to turn in my phone. I may sit back for a month and see what people think then. I very much like my 6s+ Including the camera.

I found this article to be fairly useful and also matches up with what some have said:

"Apple's new iPhones - the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus - are now available to buy following their announcement on 7 September.

The two devices were the subject of plenty of rumours in the run up to their launch, some of which were spot on, others of which will live on only in dreams.

We've compared the standard iPhone 7 to the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 in a separate feature, but this feature focuses on the iPhone 7 Plus against the iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone 6 Plus. Read on to find out the differences and similarities between the larger iPhones, old and new."

Water resistant is a biggie for me, worth the upgrade. I'm on the yearly upgrade plan, so I upgrade anyway.

Wireless charging, new design, something inventive or creative. Most of the S cycles are better cameras, battery, no design change. Thats exactly what the 7 is..

I haven't yet, but will be shortly. The camera is my only real reason to upgrade and appears to be well worth it(I'm getting the 7+)
