iPad Air 2 vs iPad mini 3

Going to upgrade my iPad today.
The only reason I ask is because the difference in chips. Is the A8X that much better than the A7? I really like the size of the of the Mini

If you choose to go with the Mini I would save money and get the Mini 2 unless you have to have TouchID. Outside of that the Mini 3 isn't much of an upgrade.

Verizon is giving me $300 off so I'm not sure they will have a mini 2

Color is a lot better on the full-size iPad. The Mini uses a relatively crappy panel that has pretty severely undersaturated red and blue IIRC.

They were no longer offering it on anything but the iPad mini 3 - got the mini 3 w/. 128 GB for 429 and the gave me $110 off of that for my trade in.

Sorry to thread hijack but Verizon is trying to lure me in with the iPad Mini 3. They are offering the 64 GB for $330 right now. I was thinking that I wanted the full size iPad but is this price on the Mini too good to pass up? Do they ever offer big discounts like this on the Ipad Air 2 as well? Do you all prefer the size of the Mini to the Air? THIA
