I mean, come on. I have people who sit in front of a computer all day long and don't know the difference between hard drive and memory.

I'm at a customer's right now who was getting a balloon tip that "disk space on C:\ is low" and he wanted to know if he needed more memory. Come on.

You can Facebook all fricking day but you can't take 3 minutes to Google and read something?

Holy shite, all of this. People are just fricking dumb man. You have the answer to damn near any question you can think of at your finger tips and your first instinct is to ask someone else for help.

They didn't have a very good knowledgebase to begin with and people selling mobile devices have muddied the water significantly by regularly calling the storage space on a mobile device "memory".

This is why I think Internet research should be a mandatory class starting in elementary school.

My parents were afraid that saving too many pictures on their computer would make it slow.

You'd be suprised how common this particular thing is, even for people who are reasonably intelligent.

Just chalk it up to job security

Well, I don't think they're totally wrong. Can't a large number of files lead to a higher rate of disk fragmentation?

Well, that *could* actually help him. Get him some more memory and reduce the paging file size.

Guilty. It's not that I'm dumb, it's that I just don't care.
