Don't get rid of it. Learn how to use it and just start playing around with. Learn about the different editing software available.
You use a Go Pro just about everywhere and you can get hooked...work, vacation, parties, hunting & fishing...you name it.
Enjoy...I have a blast with mine and they do grow on you.

i got a kid on the way in May. was planning on getting a traditional video camera but does anyone recommend a go pro instead?

Not true at all, what a bunch of crock. They are very useful if you have a family, involved in different things around the community, hell a good romantic go pro video could guarantee a BJ. Think outside the box.
