I thought it had been losing battery pretty fast lately, but I just chalked it up to apps I was using.

Gave it an overnight charge for the first time in two days and woke up to only having it charged up to 40% in 7 hours.

I rooted it, so I may go back to my original ROM, but before I do that, any Android tips or tricks to try to find out what's up?

You sure it isn't the charger going bad?

Mine acts very similar on 3 different chargers, but it sticks at 86% on an over night charge. I take it to work and plug it back in and once it powers through the 86%, it gets to 100 pretty quick. But it will also drop to 86 real quick after as well. When it does this, I make sure to run it down until it shuts the phone off which can happen anywhere from 20% on down. I've had it go from 18% to 1% to off within a minute before. Then, I charge it and it will charge per usual. The next few charging cycles I will let it run till it shuts off and it is usually good for a month or two after that. Then I rinse and repeat.

My m7 has been draining battery life very fast the last 2-3 weeks. I've been trying to figure out the issue too. I have no issue with charging it to 100% though.

I have a rooted m7 running viper one 7.0.1.

I was having the same issue recently. It was my cable that was not allowing my phone to fully charge. I don't know if it had anything to do with the rooting or what.

Also, I have been noticing battery drain since the HTC sense service pack was updated(as of Dec 4). Did some searching to find out they are having issues with the new update. Seems that people are having issues with blocked voice calls as well as battery issues, which I have had as well. I would try changing your cable first though.

Well played... Lol

I went from a note 2 to this HTC m7. Really love Android and that my note had the interchangeable battery. It's just with the HTC sense software on top of the Android platform, it just makes it so much better.

I like the built in fm radio too. The M8 has everything I would want(with sd card expansion )except the interchangeable battery. Maybe the next HTC will have it finally.

While we are on this topic, my M8 battery has also been having issues. Seems like if my phone gets too cold that it shuts down randomly? It has happened twice in the last month and a half. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Ive had my phone go from 90% battery to 0% and shut down. The only connection I can make to the two times its happened is that both times were in cold temps... Never had this happen with any other phone.
