What do I do with all my awesome Apple IIe games that I used to play?

As of a year ago my Apple IIe started not reading the floppies it had for many years prior.

The computer is a working discussion piece in my room at home, and has been since 2003. Now, if I can't get it to work, I at least want to be able to play the games I have for it.

There's a pretty big library.

So, how come there are external drives to read floppy discs that are 3.5", but not 5.25"?

Would an easier route be get a USB to ribbon strip adapter and use the drive that I already have? I would have to get the drivers to read the content from that drive then, right? If this is even possible...

How expensive/difficult would this whole ordeal be?

I don't really have anything to add here, but you are far and away my favorite poster. It's threads like these and your "AMA" threads on the OT (which you need to do again) that seal your status.

Ooh. Ok. So that is a port that converts the floppy drive signal into the USB signal and has the drivers!

Hopefully the software to have the output appear on screen too!

Thank you!

And thanks TigerFanatic99. You might want to keep those feelings on the down low, though. I'm rather hated by many a poster too!

Why not buy another Disk II or a DuoDisk?

Keep the Apple IIe going. And I know what you mean about it being a conversation piece; I have an Apple IIe that works as well.
