If youre going to include the pixel in your options, wait until the pixel 2, if possible. Comes out in october

Yeah definitely wait until the new Pixel in October now.

Ok i think ill plan on waiting for the pixel 2. If it happens that they discontinue the headphone jack like its rumored, then i guess ill just get a bluetooth adapter for my m50x's

Or you could use the 3.5mm adapter which will likely be included in the box.

true. It will just suck having to keep up with another cord. I think its funny that google is getting rid of the headphone jack when they made fun of apple doing it when they originally released the pixel

You could just keep the dongle connected to your m50x cable. How often do you remove that cable?

It's not the cool answer, but I just switched to the Samsung S8 and have been really pleased with it.
I had resisted Samsung for years, because TouchWiz (the phone's user interface) was total garbage. But they've stripped it down a ton for the S8, so it's not too far off from stock Android (like you'll find on the Pixel).
One con with the S8 is that it is not currently rootable unless you buy an international version with the Exynos chipset as opposed to the US version with Snapdragon. This was a pretty big bummer when I discovered this, but I've gotten used to not having root and have actually started using (and loving) Samsung Pay which probably will not work on rooted devices.
Go here if you want to read some real life reviews on the S8:

You can also find a Pixel forum on XDA, but I don't have that one bookmarked, so you can just use the search feature to find that device.
Before the S8, I had 4 consecutive HTC devices. These were solid and well made, but I decided I wanted a change after the HTC 10. But, it looks like the HTC U11 is pretty nice, so that might be worth a look. Traditionally, the HTC interface (Sense) is much closer to stock Android than Touchwiz.
Fantastic decision to move away from the iPhone, IMO.
Happy hunting!

pixel v1 on swappa after price drop (when pixel v2 released) is the correct answer to this thread

How long did you have the HTC 10? Are you unhappy with it?

HTC 10
A year. No, it was a great phone. I'm just a bit of a degenerate and get a new phone every year.
It has a kind of weird Wi-Fi issue where the range isn't that great sometimes and sometimes Wi-Fi drains your batter more than it should (it won't let the phone Doze, so instead of losing 1-2% overnight you lose like 7%). But this is only on certain networks/accecss points. I think its some sort of incompatibility with older routers and has something to do with ipV6. Anyway, it wasn't too big of a deal, and most people I know that have one never experienced this at all.
Other than that, I was extremely happy with it. It is very well made, easy to root an overall quality device. My wife is using it now.
It's wider than my S8, so it's not as easy to one hand and it's a good bit heavier. I didn't really mind the weight, though. It's like of like how some heavy watches feels solid and quality.

That's cool. I was just curious because I heard great things about it.
