I bought a 60+ mile range UHF HDTV antenna. I didn't do enough research ahead of time or I would have found out that to catch channel 2, I would need a VHF antenna. I can pick up every channel perfectly except WBRZ channel 2...no matter how I position the antenna. Do I need to ditch the UHF antenna all together and go buy one that does both VHF and UHF or is there another way around this predicament?

Channel 2 is the virtual channel but it is actually broadcasting on 13 which is the top of the high-VHF band. If you're receiving channel 9 but not channel 2 it is probably more of an antenna orientation problem. If you're in the city you should be able to receive both without a special VHF antenna. Go HERE and put in your address to get a custom map of the stations you should receive.

I have an amplified Terk antenna that picks up all the stations with no problem. It feeds the TVs in the house over ethernet.

You did re-scan the channels from your tv menu after adjusting the antenna, right?

Yes, we did re-scan the channels each time we adjusted the antenna.

I have found a big variation in the sensitivity of TV tuners. The network tuners (HD Homerun Duals), for example, pull in 5 or 6 more stations than the built-in tuner in the main TV. And the little kitchen TV only needs a little $10 mylar antenna to pick up almost anything.
