I'm not sure if anyone here can help but I'm willing to give it a shot.

I have a 75' hdmi cable when connected from my laptop to tv it works.

When I connect it from my laptop to the splitter and connect from the splitter to the tv with a 25' hdmi cable it acts like it wants to connect but doesn't, it flashes but never makes the connection.

Now if I switch the two cables and put the 25' one from laptop to splitter and the 75' from the splitter to tv it works.

My question is will this work with the 75' cable connecting to the splitter if I had a booster to help the signal? I'm wondering if the splitter is just not good enough and if buying a better one will work.

That's a really long way for passive HDMI. Is the splitter powered? And is the 75' cable bi-directional? A lot of longer cables have one end for source, one for the display -- try switching them around?

The splitter is powered. The cable is 1way, but out of frustration I've tried it both ways!

Sounds like a copyright issue. Try hooking everything up the way you want it and power cycle the laptop, splitter, and display.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Weird though that it works with the 25' on the input but not the 75'.

i've read about this before and these splitters not working with anything over like 50ft unless you get maybe a more special splitter.. idk.. but this is definitely something i have read about before..

You do know though that not all hdmi splitters break HDCP protection?

I am not being sarcastic, just making sure. You may need a different splitter that people specifically says it can strip HDCP protection..

that may be your problem.. you may need a splitter that breaks that encryption..

or are you talking about an hdmi switcher?

are you trying to send the same input to two different outputs?

but again like i said, i have read reviews on some splitters where people were pleased because they did work with 100 ft hdmi.. when others don't..

Yes, same signal to two different tv's. I'll do some more research and see if I can find a splitter that will strip protection.

I would say your laptop doesn't put out enough signal to carry the 75' but since your splitter is powered, it does.
