Google Pixel battery dying randomly

See image:
Phone dies at 30% or lower.. No warning, just craps out and I have to plug it in. Anyone else experiencing this? I did some Googling and there seems to be some complaints but no official statement from Google other than a forum post that there will be an OTA fix.. Really annoying when I'm on call, but at the grocery store and my phone dies way early...

Nope, no issues for me. I recently had to delete an app that was draining my battery though. Like 3 hours after unplugging I was at 40%

No issues here.. had that issue with the 6P. Loving my XL so far..

No issue on my XL. You might consider signing up for the 7.1.2 beta and see if it fixes the problem.

I saw something (maybe on r/googlepixel) about quite a few people having this problem.
I didn't look into it much since my phone has been fine but I'm sure an internet search would yield some results.
May be a solution here:

Buying another phone isn't the only option to correct issues.

Could also contact Google since the phone is under warranty

Yeah I opened a support case and they just sent me instructions and tips on how to save battery life.
I factory reset my Pixel last night. We'll see how it works today.

Warranty claim if it isn't an app, or a software update doesn't fix it. Also, you can root and use a custom ROM/kernel and see if it clears up.

Does this void the warranty?

This is a big issue with a lot of 6P owners right now too. My phone started to die at ~30% a few weeks ago. Have a new battery coming to swap it out (pain in the arse on this phone) since I'm well outside the warranty (day 1 buyer).
On the nexus 6p and Pixel reddits there are quite a few instances of this.

Yeah, sorta. You can always revert back to stock, as long as you don't brick the device somehow.

I'm at 20% right now and no shutdown.. hopefully a factory reset fixed it.
ETA
Immediately after I hit send it crapped out

I signed up for the android beta program, downloading 7.1.2 right now.. we'll see if that fixes it.

My wife had this issue. We just did a warranty on it and it's all good now. I'd recommend just contacting Google from the chat support in settings.
Tell them you factory wiped it already to save you some time.

My 6P dies at 20%. At least I know when it's coming?

Piggybacking this, my phone (or Project File itself) has started switching towers randomly. Like almost every 30 minutes to an hour it is switching between a T-Mobile and Sprint tower.
Normally at home it stays connected to Sprint but now it keeps wanting to change.
