Signed up for Direct TV Now and got my apple tv today but I'm going to be getting a new tv sometime this week hopefully. Wanna stay around 1600-2000 for the tv. On a side note, I usually just grab the cheapest HDMI cable when I need one but do you guys have any advice for them?

I usually buy THESE

They work great. Nothing I hate more than trying to watch my anime with noisy picks and humbars

Love that one. Sound comes out crystal clear. You can hear the fans in the stands conversation during the game

Here's an article about HDMI cables. Long story short, you probably only need the $5 cables.

Assuming your tv is gonna be 4K, just make sure it can send 4K signals. I think it's hdmi 2.2 or something like that

How long is the cable that you need? If it's 25' or less then get one of these. It's certified to support the throughput needed for 4K and HDR.

I don't believe 1s and 0s can be better than other 1s and 0s

I get all my HDMI cables from Monoprice. I've had no issues with any of them.

i'm guessing my downvote came from tigerwise

yep, i have a huge box full of just about every sort of digital cable that exists from monoprice. i can sort out any problem any of my friends are having in seconds and generally get at least a free lunch out of the deal (or a reach-around)

You work at best buy? When I bought my TV they were telling a woman she needed a $40 hdmi cable to watch 4k and then proceeded to compare it to buying a corvette with a Honda motor. I was laughing. He asked me if I needed cables. I told them the $5 cables work plenty good enough for my eyes.
