I'm building a rails/CoffeeScript Web application using HAML templating. Wish I would have started using HAML sooner.

I pretty much solely use flex slider. How does slick slider compare?

I'm playing around with node/angular and trying to get up to speed on the mean stack. Waiting on XCode 6 to come out so I can try out swift. Played a little with Go a few weeks ago

Really want to settle down and work on building a node app.

I also grabbed an arduino board a week ago so I'll be geeking out on that soon.

same here. I really wanted to use it on a current project, but couldn't get it to cross-compile for the ARM chip I'm using.

I have one but also bought a BeagleBone and really liked playing with it more. It has a node frontend with access to the hardware libraries. It runs Linux and I was able to get Java running on it as well.

I've set up a pi as my home media center. Are Arduino and BB much different?

I really like the slick slider because it's fully responsive, scales within its container and is swipe enabled on mobile (and desktop too with the mouse if you really want to)

Applebees uses a Pi to control media distribution in their newer restaurants...

Here is a good link breaking down Arduino, Pi and BB.

Arduino is a good starting point in playing with sensors and actuators. RobotShop has some cool kits with Arduino as the controller. BB is a full linux-based system, so you can run virtually anything to can squeeze onto the platform.
