I'm thinking about getting one (S7 or edge). What are the good and bad things about it, for those who have one?

S7 edge Owner. I got it over the Nexus 6p/Project Fi. Those were the only two options for me.

The only con so far is the slow updates, but that's par for the course. If you can live without the latest and greatest Android build, you'll be fine.

Battery is rock solid. It's fast, bright, camera is good. But I take really good care of phone, restart it every 5 days, clean out my sdcard and reboot once every other month or so, etc.

The two biggest pros are battery life and charging time. I can use my phone for a LONG time before it gets below 50%, and recharge it back to full in something like 20 minutes.

Have the S7 Edge. Can't really think of any cons, except I dropped it and cracked the back a month after a had it

No real cons. The pros of the 7 edge are 3600 mah battery last a full work day and is still at 35% around 11pm before I go to bed. It can easily get 7 hrs of SOT.

I took it snorkeling in Aruba and got some great video with no issues. My wife hogged the Go-pro and I didnt mind because the 7 edge captured better video under water.

The display is the best ever placed on a smartphone.

Its the best looking phone you can buy.

The phone is flawless from a hardware standpoint except the speaker could be better. Its slighly muffled due to the water proofing.

You and I both, except mine was after something like 7 days. At least it's not the front though.

My wife and I both got the S7 edge, and they are great phones. However, if you have a tendency to break or drop phones I would go with the regular S7, my wife broke her screen within a month even with a case on it. It's really hard to find a good screen protector for the edge because of the shape, the Zagg protector is the third protector I have tried and the only one that has been any good.

Luckily I bought a square trade warranty for the phones, and since they didn't have the edge in stock they informed us yesterday that they are refunding the purchase price of the phone back to us. She is probably getting the non-edge S7 now.

I have the S7 Edge and love it.

I owned the iPhone 1-4 and then switched to Galaxy S4-5. Now updated to the S7 Edge.

Absolutely love it and the battery life is amazing.

Cons: Cant root it (Verizon).

Count me as another person who loves their S7 edge. I even dropped mine once and it didn't crack the screen. There's a permanent little rainbow line in the pixels, but it could have been much worse.

The camera is the best I've ever used on a phone, and better than my older digital cameras as well, for picture quality.

For those of you who have the edge, why'd y'all pick it over the regular?

The screen makes all the difference in the world on the overall look of the display. Especially when watching media.

The bigger battery was the main reason I went for the edge. It also looked better imo. Cant beat that edge to edge display.

I had the 6 edge the previous year and liked the design.

Watch a video on each. You'll be drawn to the Edge. I switched from an iPhone 5S a few months ago and love the screen, best I've seen on a phone. Still appreciate some things about the iPhone though.

Camera is pretty good, I don't think cell phone cameras will ever compete for top quality photos though.
