Firestick + Kodi = great Christmas gift for cheap.

I learned the ins and outs of Kodia and it's add ons. This year I bought five fire sticks and am using that as my gift to friends who like to stream movies and TV. The only mark would be lack of HD options.
It's super easy to put Kodi on your firesticks and if you have a firestick without it you need to add it now, and firestarter so you get the android interface on your tv.

Bought another 4 of them myself for gifts. Got a nice backup file made so I can open the box and have the stick fully configured in 15 minutes.
Also picked up a couple Fire 7" tablets for $35. After loading CM12.1 on there, it's a pretty nice tablet (except the screen resolution sucks).

I setup my fire stick with kodi last night. It was super easy and so far so good. What are some good add ons? I only have fusion so far.

The only reason I couldn't give these as gifts is that Kodi and the various add ons do require maintenance as new versions are released (thinking Sports Devil especially). I do not want to be the IT support for the rest of my family.

Yeah it seems to cause considerable lag and freezing on the firestick. Was thinking about getting a fire tv to run kodi instead

Don't just put Kodi on there. Put tvaddons on there and you will have more add-ons than you'll know what to do with
