I can get a Nexus 5X on swappa for around that price or an older Nexus 6 for the same.

what to do. 6Ps are still holding steady at around $450 so thats out of my budget.

i really wanted to hold out until nov to see what new devices are coming out but i dont have a choice now

my fingers are already sliced to hell and i'm not spending $100+ to replace the screen when for another $100 or so i can get something much newer.

thoughts?

Definitely go for the Nexus 5X if it's in good condition (not familiar with swappa). Also, get insurance I just cracked my Nexus 6 last thursday and got a replacement for $100

Nexus 5X. I have one and like it a lot. Very similar to the Nexus 5 i had before but better camera and screen. About the same performance wise.

spend $20 on an invisible shield screen protector. it's awesome. it heals itself from minor scratches and it will check long before your screen does. check it out

Have you called Google about the screen? I dropped my N5 and when I called Google about getting it repaired they sent me a refurbushed phone for free.

You just missed a best buy sale for a brand new HTC M9 for $250.

Then go for the 6P. If you can get by the size of it, it's better than the 5X in every way.

What about a Sony Z3 to tide you over? They're running between 200-250. Think it's still on Lollipop, but will probably get Marshmallow soon.

I had a Verizon Z3v for a while. Other than having Verizon crap on it, the phone was nice. Battery was better than any phone I've every owned (including current 6P). I assume you would be getting an unlocked version.

most of those used Nexus 6 phones on swappa and even amazon make me nervous..they all talk about 'screen burn in' on them.

i can pick up a N6 for $210ish that is 'very good' or i'm looking at closer to $300 for a 5X.

however at least with the 5X i know its the latest model and less likely to be picking up something with other issues.
