Any deals and/or advice on external hard drives that are wi-fi enabled? Is the wifi worth the extra $100?

Most routers support attaching a plain vanilla drive and making it available over the network.

Good point. I never thought about just attaching it to my router.

I use a wifi drive to play movies on the plane or long road trips.

If you aren't going to use the drive like that, save the money.

I had no idea you could do that... Can you do a Mac Time Machine backup that way?

Not sure about Mac but Windows backup doesn't like network drives, you have to use third-party software or one of the premium Windows versions.

You should be able to - you just have to format the drive as a TM
