Check the fark board, I play around with photoshop, but there are some on that board that actually do that kind of work.

For a small company you can use a crowd design sites like the ones mentioned above. I used mycroburst for mine.
If you have a large business that needs more than just a logo, you may have better luck with someone local.

You're in California and don't know anybody to do that kind of work?
I'm sure you are better off finding someone on the fark board, but it would really depend on the kind of logo you are looking for.
