I start on the road to my second degree this summer in computer science. Luckily I only will only need around 5-6 semesters to complete it.

What would you CS guys recommend will best get me suited for a job after graduation with NO experience programming for any company? Really trying to hone my programming skills and widen my knowledge base before the courses start. Ive been on treehouse, udemy, codeschool etc. taking courses at least a couple of hours per day after work. Was also thinking of creating a couple of iOS and Android apps to add to my portfolio as well as some webpage design examples, etc.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. I'd probably start out as a developer but want to get into IT eventually

any and all advice greatly appreciated

Experience matters.

No matter what degree level you have most likely you will start at a "junior" level in title and salary.

I'd say try to get some real world on the job experience while working on your higher degree.

I actually have an idea for an iOS app that's specifically related for a service in Nola. Email me at LSUr0x@aol.com if interested in talking rates. Good luck!

Experience is key. A few companies in town offer internships. That's what led me to my first job out of college.

Second job was in consulting. At that point I still didn't have much experience but was quickly exposed to a lot of new technologies that I had to pick up quickly. It was a great way to learn the latest technology and network across town.
