Cracked Screen on Galaxy S7

Called a couple of places all want to charge for digitizer, not just the glass. Any recs in BR? Anyone just change the glass, not whole display? I know you can get a glass from Amazon; I changed the screen on an Iphone, but botched a replacement on an older Samsung.

Honestly, I would go through Samsung. It's going to be $200 or more either way and if you go through Samsung they test your phone to make sure it maintains its water proofing grade. They're going to have to also replace the back glass as well because they have to break it to get to the front screen.
Also, Samsung will allow you to keep your warranty and if they screw up the repair, they're on the hook for the damages.
After that, I'd pay the $135 insurance through Samsung where they'll send you a new phone if you have other damages.
Lastly, get a damn case if you don't have one.

I work at a cell phone repair place.
Samsung's and iPhone's have fused glass/digitizer displays.
You need a special tool to separate the glass from the digi and it has an incredibly low success rate.
So shops have gone the route of replacing the entire assembly, much better outcomes.
I highly doubt you will find anyone who will do just the glass, if you do I 95% guarantee you that the phone will not work correctly.
When we have people coming for Samsung screens we always recommend to go through insurance because replacing the screen is always more expensive. Samsung makes much nicer displays than Apple...See the OLED display on the S8 that came out in March and the Iphone with their lower quality OLED on the Iphone X.

Have a case, a very good case. It fell from above 3 ft and hit right on the edge. That cracked the screen. It is about two months old, so pretty irritated about it.

Second those who say go through insurance. It's going to be a couple hundred either way, might as well have the insurance company give you a new one
