Got a call today from Cox about some new promotion they had going. I immediately said I'm not interested in getting cable tv.
She then said that they have their contour app where it's $20/month and you get all your locals and a bunch of channels, AMC, TBS, Discovery, ESPN, Disney, etc as well as a free premium channel, with no contract.

I asked so where do I get more info on this and she said on the cox website and if you're interested to call us back and we'll give you the info to download the app. You can download it on 5 devices, and she said it would work on Roku, Fire, Apple and android TV, which asked specifically about.

I feel like I was talking to someone that was reading a script and didn't really know the answers to my questions.
I find it odd that they would be promoting this yet I've never heard of it. Maybe they are just testing it out in a few areas before they go big with it.

Anyways, anybody else hear about this? I see nothing online about it on the Cox website.

Yeah I called them about a month ago to find out about Contour. The guy gave me a quote for the biggest Contour package (no movie channels) Internet (80MBS) and phone for $118 a month (for two years?). I didn't want the phone so it ended there.

If I was stranded in the desert and I saw a cox rep. with a case of bottled water, I would run the other way as fast as I could.

I'm talking about a streaming service only, not a cable package.

Do you have COX internet? Because it seems like a package deal only

I'd rather drag my nuts through broken glass than talk to a cox rep

Looked around and don't see anything. I suspect this is a marketing ploy with IOS 10.2 and single sign on. Install all the Cox supported apps, single sign-on to them to stream.

that's what they said, and yes I have cox internet only.
said the price is guaranteed for 24 months and is non contractual.
What i'm not understanding is I have to call them back and tell them I want to do this, and then they will give me the instructions on how to get the app. Just sounds a bit retarded.

I wonder if it's this "Contour Flex" service. The site doesn't give much detail.

I called to cancel Cox cable in August and was told about this. I signed up and later found out that this doesn't work with a streaming device. I cancelled and got PS Vue.
